Mercier Brut Rosé Champagne

- Bottle: 750ml
£30.00 (inc VAT)
Champagne Mercier was founded in 1858 by Eugene Mercier, who amazingly was only 20 years old. His aim was to bring a top-class Champagne to the general public from his estate in Epernay. It took six years to excavate the 18 kilometres of tunnels that became the Mercier cellars, with the work being completed in 1877. 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier (some of which is vinified as red wine). Pink with coppery tints. Subtle aromas of small red fruits with a dominant flavour of blackcurrant. Gentle start envolving towards red fruits. Lingering in the mouth refreshed by the fruitiness of the varieties. A clean, very fine wine, ideal as an aperitif or to accompany a fillet of grilled sea trout, a leg of lamb with rosemary, or a light dessert such as a gratin of red fruit.
